Adding Points to a Studio Spline

Adding Points to a Studio Spline

Adding Points to a Studio Spline

(OP)
I am currently on NX8.5.3.3
It has been more than a couple years since I worked with studio splines, and it seems like I lost my touch with them.
How do I add a new point to a studio spline that will be between two existing points ?
I can add a new end point easily but that's it.

RE: Adding Points to a Studio Spline

Once you are in edit mode, the 'Enable Snap Point' icon should be highlighted, and the 'Point on Curve' icon should be highlighted

This will allow you to select the spline itself in its interior to add points (could also select a spot along another curve or edge but that would create a new endpoint as you are experiencing now)

The Enable Snap Point icon toggles are the key

You can have, for example, Point on Curve highlighted and Existing Point highlighted

You could click on the spline somewhere in it's interior to create a new interior point, then immediately drag it onto an existing point

RE: Adding Points to a Studio Spline

Double click on the Studio Spline to invoke edit mode, then to add a point/pole between two existing points/poles, right click on an existing point/pole and choose Insert Point/Pole Previous or Insert Point/Pole Next. Previous will insert a point/pole before the selected point/pole; Next will insert a point/pole after the selected point/pole.

Hope this helps.
