Out of memory error NX6

Out of memory error NX6

Out of memory error NX6

(OP)
I'm using my boss' computer to open some rather large parasolid files, it still runs NX6, and even though it's a great computer (i7 processor, 16Gb ram) it gives me an "Out of memory" error. It's not even coming close to using up all of the computer's ram before giving me the error.

Is there some kind of cache that needs to be emptied or something of the sort?

Thanks in advance

RE: Out of memory error NX6

Sounds like odd behavior to me. Did you happen to verify Windows is recognizing all the ram? Sometimes if dimms and cards are not seated properly there can be all sorts fo headaches ranging from mild to an un-bootable computer. Ctrl-shift-esc brings up a task manager window quickly.

RE: Out of memory error NX6

Is there a 64 bit version of NX 6 available? If so, are you using it?
The 32 bit version of NX won't be able to use all 16Gb of RAM.

Tingsryd, Yes windows is recognizing the ram. NX quit on me once it reached around 5-6Gb I think.

cowski, I hadn't thought of checking that, I'll make sure to look it up. Good possibility that's the issue.

Thanks!
