Stiffened Plate output
Stiffened Plate output
(OP)
Hi everybody,
FE is not all about piece of art with nice colors, but still! I've got a plate stiffened with beam, and I would like to now if it is possible to display stress on the beam as well as on the plate?
I've attached a screenshot to illustrate the problem.
Thanks a lot fir your help!

RE: Stiffened Plate output
Yes, starting in FEMAP v10.3 (or maybe v11), in the "Select Post Processing Data" window (the "{}" button) you have the "Multiple Contour Vectors" button, which is thought out for this: plotting results on different types of elements.
Be advised though: if you select 2 vectors on the same element type, FEMAP won't automatically do the max of the two.
So in your case I suppose you would select something like "Top Von Mises stress" for the plates and "End A Max combined stress" for the beam.
Do not do the following:
1) selecting both Top and Bot plate VM stress: FEMAP won't do the max. For this you need to select the "Double-sided Planar Contour", which WILL do the max operation
2) selecting both end A AND end B max combined stress: again FEMAP will not do the max operation, it will only display the first one.
