Machine base grouting curing time/Loading the machine base

Machine base grouting curing time/Loading the machine base

Machine base grouting curing time/Loading the machine base

(OP)
Dear all,

We are doing the grouting for steel structure base for HRSG.
Need to know the curing time/Exact time for Loading the structure (i.e installing the modules/Equipment)

Understand that, curing time 28 days for grouting cements for achieving compressive strength

RE: Machine base grouting curing time/Loading the machine base

arunsiva - The 28 day compressive strength of both grout and concrete is a widely accepted standard to evaluate and compare the products. There is nothing special about the time being exactly 28 days. To determine when the structure can be loaded, compression test results of standard grout samples should be performed by qualified individuals. There is no exact time that can be precisely predicted when the grout will reach the strength required by the design engineer. This is true for the heavy loads put on a foundation by the Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) of a combined cycle power station or for any other grouted base plate.

Sir,(SlideRuleEra)
Thanks for your valuable information

RE: Machine base grouting curing time/Loading the machine base

Many times - but all! - the static weight of the machine itself or equipment can be resisted much, much earlier (for simple construction purposes) than the operating (dynamic) final loads.
