Fire alarm check valve location

(OP)
help me please...... i am working in installing of fire protection system in industrial buildings , and we should install fire alarm check valve on entrance pipe feed of each building, now , is the alarm check valve should be installed in visible location or can be installed above false ceiling or inside the building or inside building rising.

thanks

RE: Fire alarm check valve location

From the 2010 edition of 13

8.1.2* System valves and gauges shall be accessible for operation, inspection, tests, and maintenance.

While it is technically permitted to be above a false ceiling, the years of headaches and the added cost of time lost trying to access it make it expensive. Very expensive.

The accepted industry practice is to locate the "System Riser" immediately on the entrance piping.
