Sliding a rod normal to a curved 3D surface
Sliding a rod normal to a curved 3D surface
(OP)
Hi,
I am trying to model a rod which contact and slides along the normals of the curved 3D surface. Initially I want to know how can we allign the rod normal to the 3D surface normal of the curved portion. Then in another step, I like to slide it along that direction maintaining the same angle of contact, so that it moves through the normals on the surface.
I have also attached the description of the problem.

Couple the other side of the rod to the rotation center of the curved region.

Thanks for the reply. The problem is I want a cylindrical rod to contact normal to a 3D curved surface. There is a condition that the rod tip must be contacting only at the surface NORMALS. How can I align this rod, exactly normal to particular node on the 3D surface.
