Benefit of A333 gr 1 over A333 gr 6

Benefit of A333 gr 1 over A333 gr 6

Dear All,

We are replacing all the Old LTCS piping in our ammonia Unloading station so i ordered A333 gr 6 but in original spec. sheet Gr 1 is mentioned. Now i did that considering Tensile and yield strengths but is there something i am missing because of silicon presence in Gr 1?

RE: Benefit of A333 gr 1 over A333 gr 6

ASTM A333 Grade 6 pipe is typically used in cold weather applications, below -29C. The reason for using A333 is not the non-dynamic, standing pressure concern but transient pipe conditions, mainly associated with phase change or rapid acceleration of the contents.
