Temperature steel reinforcement

Temperature steel reinforcement

Temperature steel reinforcement

(OP)
In the figure below the major axis moment Mz and minor axis moment My. Three bars in top and bottom resist the major axis moment Mz.
Two bars in the sideways resist minor axis moment My.
The major axis moment steel is compared against the temperature steel for minimum reinforcement.
As per aci 318 minmim tem reinf = 0.001*Gross area of section.
Similarly is there is need of minor axis moment steel My, Should i check for temperature steel for minimum reinforcement along minor axis moment.
Can you explain me what should i do in this case. How much is the value of temperature steel along minor axis and major axis cross section of pile cap.

Temperature reinforcement should be provided in both directions. same amount each way.

RE: Temperature steel reinforcement

RE: Temperature steel reinforcement

If this is a beam - why are you even referring to "temperature and shrinkage" reinforcement? That is only for structural slabs.
