Need help with my new job

(OP)

Hi everyone,

i am new here so apologies in advance, i am here for some help and guidance so any info will be greatly appreciated.

I recently graduated and got a job as a controls engineer and i am having a tough time!!. I dont have any experience with automated stamping press machines (which is what i am currently working on). I have never worked with the equipment such as Pilz safety relay, AB contacts (webmaster), Euchner evaluation units, SWE drive or Siemens motors. BTW i am hired as entry level and i would like to get up to speed as soon as possible, which is why i am here LOL tongue

could someone plz suggest some good books, website or sources with examples and explanations.

Thank you,
Sam

RE: Need help with my new job

You should be able to find documentation for all of the commercial devices you list on the manufacturer's website, or (better yet) in hardcopy form from the manufacturer's rep. Call said rep(s) and introduce yourself, explain what you want and let them deliver a plethora of design manuals and data sheets, along with a line card and literature showing the new, improved models. Rep's that don't show up might make you want to look at what the competition has in the same lines (and do say that directly to the rep, it will get their attention unless they are 59-yr old burnouts). Then get busy and read.

Oh, and try writing in standard English, please. Lack of capitals and txt spk makes you seem a bit...childish, sorry to say. To the positive side, it's good you are looking for ways to learn. As somebody else on this site said, your diploma is just a ticket to the show, you get to stay and hopefully advance by learning something every day. Glad to have you aboard, stick around and contribute.

Thank you again for the help
