Dear all,

I am trying to create the axisymmetric shell element, SAX1, but i have no idea how to do it. The problem is that it is impossible to directly assign a shell, homogeneous section to an axisymmetric, shell part, which is actually 2-dimensional.

I noticed that I was able to assign the solid, homogeneous section to the axisymmetric, shell part, or just create an axisymmetric, wire part so that it can be assigned using the shell, homogeneous section. Although some results can be obtained using the two approaches, I believe that the results would be different from the results when using the real axisymmetric shell elements. Could anyone tell me how to get the axisymmetric shell element?

The naming of the geometry type is not correct when you create the part.
When you want to simulate an solid as axisymmetric region, you have to use "Shell" when creating the part.
For a Shell in 3D you have to use "Wire" for axisymmetric analysis.
