5/8" deep steel deck literature
5/8" deep steel deck literature
(OP)
Hey all,
One of the guys in the office here went to site and measured up some existing steel deck. It has similar material thickness and flute widths and flute spacing to standard 1 1/2" deep steel deck however it is only 5/8" deep.
Does anyone here have some info on anything like that? If it helps the building is from the late 70's early 80's as far as we know.
Thanks in advance!

It was generally used to support a concrete slab until it cured and is considered expendable. Possible it was used without a slab too...
Vulcraft should have some info or that.

That's why this threw us for a loop. My first thought was building liner panel as well.
2 1/2" wide flutes at 6" o/c is what he's got. material thickness near 20-22 ga. But only 5/8" deep. It's odd.

The closest I could find in my files is this one.

It will likely be close enough. Apparently the owner wants some more concrete proof that it needs to be upgraded.
