ST3 on Windows 8 and 10 - Question

ST3 on Windows 8 and 10 - Question

(OP)
Hi all,

I have been running Solidedge ST3 happily on my Windows 8 Laptop for quite sometime. I know it is an old version of Solidedge but our company has a lot of legacy machinery in Solidedge that we have to work with. We have moved to a competitors CAD system so hence we don't update Solidedge anymoe...

I recently updated to Windows 10 and can't seem to find a way to make Solidedge ST3 work completely. I am able to open Drafts but as soon as I try to open any Part or Assembly file the program immediately crashes.

I have tried Uninstalling and Re-installing (all with UAC off) and have tried all the different compatibility settings (Windows Vista, 7 etc and Running as Administrator) but still can't get it to function.

Can anyone give me any tips on what to try next?

RE: ST3 on Windows 8 and 10 - Question

Even ST8 doesn't support Win10 yet.

Yea I know... I've got around it by installing a virtual machine running Windows 8.1 and running Solidedge within that. Has been working well.

So, you solved your problem?
