How to copy load case etc.,which are geometry independent from one model to another?

Hi All,

Please share if you came across any reliable method of copying load case etc. which are geometry independent from one model to another. I know we can do this using IDE but looking for a more efficient menthod.

Thanks in advance!

RE: How to copy load case etc.,which are geometry independent from one model to another?

If you are creating a new model, just select the .SDB file of the model you want to use load combinations etc from, as starting input database file.

In case you have already created a model, and want to add load combinations etc. from another model, use text input files of the two models. Copy required data from text input file of the 'reference' model, and replace the relevant data present in the text file of the new model. Save the updated text file with the same extension as that of the original one, but file type as 'All files'. Import the new text input file, into SAP2000. This should do the needful.

A good structural engineer is often a blessing for others.
