Suspect of under designed : Two Way Ribbed Slab with long span

Suspect of under designed : Two Way Ribbed Slab with long span

(OP)
Gents

I am evaluating the structural conditions of a newly built villa ( Almost a year now ) .The reason behind is that the trust between the client and the contractor is somehow broken as the quality of the contractor is really below the average . Any way ,

1- I've finished the visual inspection and couldn't find any serious sign and what made it easy is that they did not start the finishing so everything is obvious by naked eyes .

2- The NDT test by Schmidt hammer showed very good result .

3- The core strength I have taken from the columns , slabs and beams were very good

4- Ultra sonic was good , Cover meter , etc ....

However, and While I was checking the structural drawing ,it took my attention the trapezoidal ribbed slab ( Attached ) with more than 13 m long span .. also the general framing in this area ( the hall ( doesn't look OK to me .

So I would really appreciate your input in this regards .

RE: Suspect of under designed : Two Way Ribbed Slab with long span

Ribbed slabs are pretty good for long spans. What is the depth of the ribs from the top of slab? What is it about the system that doesn't look right to you? Just the spans?

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.

RE: Suspect of under designed : Two Way Ribbed Slab with long span

To be honest, those drawings haven't told me anything, but if you believe that this is an engineering error, estimate and check a critical cross-section for adequacy.
