How to remove a material colour assigned from the "System Materials" pallet?

How to remove a material colour assigned from the "System Materials" pallet?

Hello,

Probably a stupid question but google doesn't seem to know.

If a material colour has been assigned from the "system materials" tab in the resource bar, i.e. Car Paint Black, how do I remove the material colour? Edit Object Display doesn't seem to work - new colour is shown in the dialog, but colour of the part doesn't change.

RE: How to remove a material colour assigned from the "System Materials" pallet?

Go to...

View -> Visualization -> Materials/Textures...

...and you'll notice an additional tab, 'Materials in Part', added to the Resource Bar. Select it and you will find a material called 'None'. Simply drag this onto your model and the 'material' will be removed.

Thank you John, don't think I would ever have found that!
