How to perform FEA with GAP contact?
How to perform FEA with GAP contact?
(OP)
Hello guys,
How could I perform FEA with GAP on contact? I have a 3D model with 0.1mm of gap between the parts, but when I perform FEA it doesn't understand and parts enter another. See attachment:
Thanks in advance,
Henry.

RE: How to perform FEA with GAP contact?
You write that the parts interpenetrate eachother during the FEA. This indicates to me that you are using either Bonded or Free Interfaces. You should use Contact Interfaces instead. Using this interface, Creo recognise the selected surfaces and will now transfer the contact forces between said surfaces. By the way this is a dynamic simulation, so it requires more computational power from the hardware. You can reduce the computational time required by selecting the surfaces of relevance that will have contact compared to selecting all surfaces.
