CATIA Issue- Converting CAT Product to CAT Part

(OP)
Hello All,
I have a CATIA Product,in which I have some Mechanical solids as well as Electrical Bundle segments in Branchable .When I am tryint to convert the whole CAT Product to CAT Part,I am able to retain colors of Mechanical parts but not Electrical Budget segments(instead its showing grey color)..Plz help me out..I need to retain same colors of Budget segments too.

Please also Let me know if there is any CATIA CAA API to get the color of Bundle segments in CATIA Product.

RE: CATIA Issue- Converting CAT Product to CAT Part

The problem appears to be that the "Rib.x" geometry of the bundles remain coloured grey and this is what is being translated when using "Make CATPart from CATProduct" irregardless of the colour chosen at the "Bundle Segment" level of the tree.

All I can suggest is you either right-click on the Bodies in the multi-branchable and assign the appropriate colour (which is twice the work and non-associative however) or you simply re-assign the colours after you use "Make CATPart from CATProduct" and I would highly recommend the latter.

This is just one of those things Dassault did not think about. It's a nuissance but shouldn't be a dealbreaker. I don't see the problem because you likely have much bigger problems going on in any real-life project than this. I'm not saying I approve of that but it's just being realistic. Please don't mess around with CAA API because that is rarely ever the answer! Don't try to automate what is broken, if it's broken deal with it or fix it, don't use CAA API to make a macro-based workaround that seems to the solve the problem but never truly solves the entire problem and becomes a burden to maintain. Just my opinion.
