Drawing titles

Drawing titles

Drawing titles

(OP)
If I have a multi-page drawing, is it OK to have a different title on each sheet (in title block)?

RE: Drawing titles

I would say no... the drawing title should coincide with the drawing number, or you are just asking for confusion.

RE: Drawing titles

Regardless how many sheets there are, it's one drawing or document. The titles stay the same.

RE: Drawing titles

For some reason it occurs to me that some formats (A-size?) don't even have the title on other-than the first page.

But if it's going to be there, it should be the same.

RE: Drawing titles

Sometimes we create drawing for different dash numbers with same base number. Though each part number will have different description we don’t specify on drawing. Respective view will have dash numbers underneath of view. In title black only base number is mentioned. Template will have only title in first page

RE: Drawing titles

ASME does allow the second line, if you use them, to be different on each sheet, but the main title must be the same.

Sheet 2: Assembly, Test Stand
Assembly View

Sheet 3: Assembly, Test Stand
Item Details

RE: Drawing titles

Curious...
In addition to KENATs quote, in the Nonmandatory Appendix C it states "(g) When the drawing title appears on each sheet of a multisheet drawing, the exact same title shall appear on
all sheets."
Is there wiggle room?

RE: Drawing titles

There is a wiggle-room because appendix is "non-mandatory". I personally find it stupid (sorry).

RE: Drawing titles

I know that the appendix is non-mandatory, but KETNATs original quote was not in the appendix, but under general rules. No "should be" but "shall be".
