Tube sheet material in S & T heat exchanger
Tube sheet material in S & T heat exchanger
(OP)
hi Everyone,
I have a question regarding the material used in Tube sheet construction I am in process of inkind replacement of tube bundle in one of our shell and tube heat exchanger the vendor has suggested me a change in tube sheet material from SA 515 Gr 60 SS clad to A266 Gr 4 SS clad .I just wanted to know that if i except this change will their be any change in my tube sheet thickness ? Will i need to make new calculations again ?

RE: Tube sheet material in S & T heat exchanger
On the bright side, based on ASME Section II-D, SA-266 Grd 4 has higher stress values than SA-515 Grd 60. Therefore, depending on the size of your exchanger, the tubesheet may become significantly thinner by switching to SA-266 Grd 4.

TEMA also has restriction/requirements for the tube sheet design and materials....
