Loading Effect on Transformer Lifespan...

(OP)
Good afternoon, (assuming it's afternoon wherever you are. If not: Good whatever portion of the day it happens to be in your current location).

I'm wondering if there are any set standards detailing how large power transformer's aging is affected by loading/temperature changes. I'm familiar with DGA and how insulation depolymerization is a function of temperature, but I'm wondering if there are other factors that have a concerted effect on the aging process of a Transformer.

I would also like to know: On the Duval Triangle, the right-most regions (T1, T2, T3) are Thermal type incipient faults; but I'm not sure if these temperatures are referring to a constant, hottest spot temperature, all of which seem high for hottest spot consideration; the instantaneous temperature due to some past fault on the line, meaning the gases formed very quickly with formation of a fault on the line before protective equipment could be used to isolate the fault; or some other factor I'm not aware of. If anyone has experience in this area, I would be greatly appreciative for any time you'd take to direct me in this matter.

Much obliged,
-Glenn.
