hi......in the compressor station and according to asme b 31.8 ...can we use back weld for all joint?and if i can....what kind of filler metal must be use?6010 or 7018?and can i back weld in this station and use filler metal in down hill position?

Yes you can backweld.

I would use E7018.

First thing you need to do is revise your WPS - the joint is no longer single sided if you add a backweld.
Or alternatively write a separate repair WPS.

7018 would be uphill welded. E7048 is a down hill welding low hydrogen electrode. Welders must be appropriately qualified per API 1104.

my freinds....i dont see accrding to code asme b 31.8..and asme section 9 about how we can use back weld or what kind of electrod must be use for back weld?
