Block forged tee

Block forged tee

Block forged tee

(OP)
For one of our projects for an EQUAL TEE OF SA234WP91 material, with 20" OD and thickness of 4 ", Vendor has proposed a block forged and machined tee instead of formed one

1. Above what thickness can we accept Forged tees instead of Formed, and are there any disadvantages associated with it ?

2. Our Customer has specified Tee as SA234WP91, can the block forged and machined tee called as SA234WP91 or SA182F91

3. Can the Vendor be asked to follow B16.9 dimensions and does it qualify as a B16.9 Butt Welded Tee

4. Is there any Criteria for specifying for the minimum crotch thickness. Can the Vendor be asked to perform a calculation for extruded outlets as per ASME B31.1 to ensure the availability of material at crotch as it is a very critical high pressure high temperature application and no burst test reports are available.
