Welding schools in Barrie?

Welding schools in Barrie?

Welding schools in Barrie?

(OP)
Hey I'm new to this forum and I am a art student in painting and sculptures. My college has announced an art exhibition recently and I am in charge of presenting a metal sculpture. I am planning for a metal installation made out of scrap metal. The metal installation requires welding, cutting, remodeling and sort of designing stuff. I don’t have much idea about welding and thought of taking some basic lessons in welding. As I searched on google and came across a welding school, Weldtech training in Toronto which is quite well but not very convenient for me as I’m located in Barrie (I recently moved to Barrie where my college is). Is there any reputed welding school in Barrie?

Bill23-

If possible, I would highly recommend you spending a year or so at a community college to learn welding. There are always good paying jobs available for skilled welders. Unfortunately, the same is not usually true for artists/metal sculptors.

The skills needed to cut and weld scrap metal for art pieces is minimal. You just need to learn enough so that you don't injure yourself.

Good luck to you.

I second tbuelna. Best bang for buck is community college to get a base of knowledge down. Then, you will have the perspective to know how to advance your learning.
