Unable to define linearly varying Temperature field for Axisymmetric Model

Unable to define linearly varying Temperature field for Axisymmetric Model

Unable to define linearly varying Temperature field for Axisymmetric Model

(OP)

Hello all,

I have attached Axi-symmetric model of ball and disk contact. I want to simulate this model with linearly varying elastic modulus of disk material below the sub surface depth. For this I have partitioned disk in the two regions, where upper region will have linearly decreasing temperature field. In the material definition, I am using elastic modulus dependent on the temperature data. This will ensure linear variation of elastic modulus for linearly decreasing temperature field. The problem is with Predefined Fields section where I am unable to assign linearly decreasing Temperature field. The only option that is available for section variation is constant through the region. I couldn't change this to "Gradient through shell section" option which is defined in Abaqus User's Guide. Can somebody please guide me on how to setup linearly varying temperature as a predefined field in the region of interest for this problem?
In the attached .cae file(zipped), model name is 4500_2mm_case_depth_partition_only.
Any assistance in this matter would be appreciated,

Thank you in advance,

Sincerely,
Nikhil
