Generator Loadbanking
Generator Loadbanking
(OP)
Nfpa 110 (standby generators states you must meet 30% of your rated generator load
every month. If not you must perform a load bank ,and the requirement is,
25% for one half hour 50% for next half hour and 75% for the last hour.(KW name plate)
The vender we use uses a resistive load bank. The question I have is would it be calculated with a .1 power factor as apposed to a .8 power factor?

The reactive component does not present any loading on the prime mover.
Use generator kW rating and load bank kW loading.
