Move Body
Move Body
(OP)
I recently received an assembly file that I need to work with, I assume it was simplified before being sent because there are no part names only "Body (1), Body (2)" etc. I need to move some of these bodies but it won't let me. How can I turn them into workable parts? Does exporting into stp or iges help at all? Running NX 9.0

RE: Move Body
You can make each body in its own component Assembly -> component -> create new component

RE: Move Body
If you wish to use the sort of 'constraints' that you can with Components of an Assembly, then you will need to export each solid body into it's own unique part file which is then used as a Component in an Assembly. This could be done using the 'Create New Component' function while working in your part file as if it were an Assembly. As you use the above function, it will move the Solid Bodies from the current Part model into their own Part files which will Automatically be placed, as Components, in the Assembly at their current locations. Once they've all been 'moved' in this manner, then you can use the conventional Assembly Constraint functions to align and position the various parts of your model.
