Hello everyone,

As per UG-29 & UG-80 , To find chord length & e which length L0 should consider?

For my pressure vessel 1000mm is pressurized shell length. if I take standard plate (1250 or 1500 mm width) for shell fabrication then which length L0 (design length) to consider for fig. UG-29.2 & UG-80.1. .......?

REFER ATTCHED FILE FOR MAY TANK DETAIL.

RE: Design length_UG-29 & UG-80

KEJUL, assuming from your sketch "Tank Line" is the head tangent, L = 1000 + 1/3 head depth. The flat head is a line of support, the open end is not. See UG-28(b).

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

Thanks Mike...
But for shell calculation which length should consider for same.......

RE: Design length_UG-29 & UG-80

KEJUL, surely you don't consider an open end outside the pressure boundary a line of support?

Mike

Mike,

I consider 1000 mm to calculate shell length... Is it right?

Looks like 1000 + 1/3 head depth to me...
