side sheeting sag rod arrangement

side sheeting sag rod arrangement

side sheeting sag rod arrangement

(OP)
Dear All,

Please find attached file containing the Sag Rod Arrgt we are providing for the Side sheeting of an Enclosure.

I have Doubt that the Top Sag Rod Arrgt like truss is good enough to transfer the Gravity load to colmns,
Is there Any other Good method of Transferring the load is there?

Side Sheeting Weight is around 25 kg/m^2

regards,

senthil

RE: side sheeting sag rod arrangement

Usually the top sag rods are attached to a substantial beam at the top of the wall. I've never seen an arrangement where they have attempted to truss between the top girts as you have shown. Some of those diagonal rods will have to be in compression to be a truss.

If you cannot attach the sag rods to the beam above, maybe they can add a beam above the top girt. It would need to be sized to take the weight of the girts and siding it is supporting.

RE: side sheeting sag rod arrangement

Can the roof/floor beam behind the cladding not be made to support it? If not, trusses might be a good idea. If the trusses won't work as sag rods, perhaps the can be made of conventional steel members.

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.
