PQR/WPS for 8-1/2" thick
PQR/WPS for 8-1/2" thick
(OP)
Hi all,
We may be getting ready to do a project that is roughly 8" thick 516-70 with 3/4" stainless steel cladding. I am just looking to start preparing myself for the requirements. This vessel will be ASME section VIII U-stamped. As far as the PQR/WPS how would one go about making one with the cladding? This PQR/WPS will require PWHT and impact testing. I have not dug into section IX yet but i will. Just wanted to hear from some of the experienced professionals on this site.

- Minimum filler metal thickness shall be determined by chemical analysis
- Tensile and bend tests must be done with full thickness of cladding through reduced section of the specimen
