Electro-galvanisation Electroplating tolerances

Electro-galvanisation Electroplating tolerances

Electro-galvanisation Electroplating tolerances

(OP)
Hello all!
Does anyone know if there is a standard for electro-galvanisation / electroplating regarding the thickness tolerances of the coating, based on the surface length, geometry, thickness, etc?
I've searched online but I can't seem to find this kind of information.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Any help is massively appreciated!
Best regards to you all!

RE: Electro-galvanisation Electroplating tolerances

It is going to be highly dependent on the type of plating and the part geometry. It's something you have to work out with the plater. There are specifications for minimum plating thickness to achieve certain levels of corrosion resistance.

The Help for this program was created in Windows Help format, which depends on a feature that isn't included in this version of Windows.

I have to second that. You're looking for process details, and the only reliable way to get what you need is to directly consult with the experts in that field. So you really need to talk to the plater and get their opinions and recommendations. You also need to be very clear on the purpose/function of the plating.
