Stress prior to contact

Stress prior to contact

Stress prior to contact

(OP)
I'm trying to conduct an analysis in which a rigid body inclines and falls on a deformable body... while doing so i observe that deformable body is getting stress before coming in contact to rigid falling body and the members are stressed without any contact. what can be done to prevent it.

model notes:-
a general contact between all is defined in analysis step.
step is dynamic explicit.
whole body is under gravity load where as deformable body is attached via tie to a rigid plate whose all the dofs are fixed in space.

thanx for help

RE: Stress prior to contact

How have you define your contact? Finite sliding, small sliding, surface to surface....?

RE: Stress prior to contact

(OP)
Finite sliding or small sliding are a part of surface to surface contact only , i have defined general contact for *all in analysis step
