Hi I need a macro that can take user input and create a sketch based on that input

for example a like a kinematic link or a Chain curve

RE: create a sketch using a macro

What benefit do you see of creating a macro for this ?

RE: create a sketch using a macro

When you say "macro", do you mean a program?

What are the inputs, and what output do you want

What is a "Chain curve"? Do you mean a catenary?

RE: create a sketch using a macro

The term "macro" has a very specific meaning in NX. You may be able to use a macro to create a sketch based on user input; I'm not sure, I've never tried. However, if you are able to use a journal or UGOpen program, you should look at the "SketchShape" example provided with your NX install.
[NX install dir]\UGOPEN\SampleNXOpenApplications\.NET\SketchShape
