Termination of lithium in lithium batteries.

Termination of lithium in lithium batteries.

Termination of lithium in lithium batteries.

(OP)
I am doing some research on different electrical cells.

The electrode on a lithium cell seem to be made of an inert metal which passes through case and is connected to Li with some sort of paste. Would I be correct in assuming this is a conductive paste used to prevent any galvanic reaction between electrode metal and Li but still allow good electrical contact.

What would this material be?

Any other methods of terrminating Li?

Thanks

RE: Termination of lithium in lithium batteries.

I could be wrong, but I believe all of the lithium-based batteries put the lithium in the electrolyte, not the electrodes themselves.

My question is concerning the connection between Li and terminal.

I assume Li cannot be terminated outside battery chamber as it would corrode in air. Therefore a non corrosive metal must be terminated inside chamber.

How is Li connected to terminal? Is soldering possible?

Thanks

Thanks .

More complicated than I expected. Quite a vriety of possibl Li forms in cathode.
