Half full - Half empty? I don't mind. It's what in it that counts.

Hi, what is shown is the armature current and voltage......what would the field current and voltage be?? there is no separate nameplate showing this....

RE: Old DC Motor Field Specs wanted

The nameplate says that the motor is shunt-wound. Not separately excited. That usually means that field and armature voltages are equal.

Just connect and run! But inspect the innards first. There may be lots of dirt, dead mice and the commutator may need to be overhauled. Check insulation and bearings as well.

RE: Old DC Motor Field Specs wanted

The nameplate says "stabilized shunt wound" motor. It means the motor is provided with a stabilizing series field winding S1 and S2 that will be connected in series with the armature.

Like Skogsgurra said, Field in connected in parallel with armature
If you disconnet the brushes you can measure field ohms with a ohmeter
Could you send a picture of motor´s terminal box?
