[XFEM] Fatigue crack propagation

[XFEM] Fatigue crack propagation

[XFEM] Fatigue crack propagation

(OP)
Hello everyone,

I am trying to plot a graph crack size vs number of cycles. My model is the same as in Abaqus 14 manual link. For better understanding of topic, I try to obtain the solution in analytical way. I have found similar geometry here, however, in this example the geometry has infinite dimensions. Despite that assumption I obtained fatigue life of specimen and I got totally different values than in Abaqus. Then I found that in the Abaqus, the Paris Law is implemented with energy release rate rather than stress intensity factor. Unfortunately, my analytical results are still wrong. I will be grateful if anyone gives me any clue how to obtain the same results numerically and analytically. I tried many geometries, material parameters and I always get the same wrong results...

Thanks in advance,
Slawomir
