Plotter problem

Plotter problem

Plotter problem

(OP)
Hello all
I'm having a problem with a new plotter. I am Using bare bones Autocad 2000 on Windows 2000.
The problem stareted when I deleted a plotter config from the plotter manager. Now when I try to
plot I get the following error dialog message.

" C:\program files\Autocad 14\plotters\2.pc3 This configuration
can not be used either the either the driver can not be found, the device can not be found, or
the driver has a problem. "

If I am plotting manually I can bypass the message and continue on but, it screws up my
script files for plotting. Can some one give me a clue as to where I can correct this
at.
P.S. The folder C:\Program files autocad 14 no longer exist on my machine I deleted it off
when I upgraded to 2000 a couple of years ago.
Thanks in advnce.

Dude,
It sounds like you need to change your settings under options.

type options
hit the enter key
click the plotting tab
under "DEFAULT PLOT SETTINGS FOR DRAWINGS" > "USE AS DEFAULT OUTPUT DEVICE"

See if it is looking for that PC3 file.
You may need to point to a new PRINTER or PC3.

As for your file, I believe after you've opened and saved it, you NOW need to set the PAGESETUP to save an appropriate PRINTER or PC3 file.

Just right click on the model tab & layout tab ...
And go to PAGESETUP
Set your PRINTER and save the drawing.

Your error messages should now go away.

Hopefully!
Let me know if it hasn't ....

Thanks for your reply
I had already gone in and changed the settings under options. What I had forgotten to do was the page setup (doh!). Sometimes the simplest things give us the biggest headaches. Anyway that did the trick I'm giving you a star for reminding me of what should have been obvious.
