Vsd restart after shutdown

Vsd restart after shutdown

Vsd restart after shutdown

(OP)
We have a vsd, When the ESD is activated and reset the drive starts back up again automatically Also the drive starts back up automatically it the stop signal is removed. It was assumed that the drive was looking for a rising pulse and would not start up again until it saw this but this is not the case

This is very bad practice and goes against regs,is their a simple way to ensure that when the ESD is reset or the stop signal is removed that the drive doesn't start up again.

I was thinking of a reset pushbutton that would have to be pressed manually?

Thanks

RE: Vsd restart after shutdown

All VFDs have parameters that control various aspects of their function. Get the manual, of which most are on-line somewhere if the hardcopy one is missing, and look up which parameters control the behavior you seek to change.

One parameter will control what happens when a fault has occurred.

There is also a parameter that controls what happens with regards to auto-starting.

And, there is another parameter that describes what signal sense is needed to command "run". You would always want the opposite sense from whatever a broken wire in your control circuitry would cause, to be "run".
