Create a toolbar button and link it to a NXOpen .exe file ?

Create a toolbar button and link it to a NXOpen .exe file ?

(OP)
Hello Everyone,

I am trying to link 2 applications one being a .dll and the other being a .exe NXOpen application by creating a custom toolbar menu as shown below. I am launching NX using a batch file so that it comes pre-populated with my custom toolbar buttons.

VERSION 120

EDIT UG_GATEWAY_MAIN_MENUBAR

BEFORE UG_HELP
CASCADE_BUTTON TEST_MENU
LABEL Applications
END_OF_BEFORE

MENU TEST_MENU

BUTTON FT
LABEL FT
ACTIONS $UGII_USER_DIR\application\FT.dll

BUTTON PC
LABEL PC
ACTIONS "start C:\application\PC.exe"

END_OF_MENU

On clicking the button FT the dll application works fine, but on clicking the PC button it throws an error. The application is trying to run through the command prompt and the error is because the NXOpen dlls are not getting loaded while running the application using the command prompt.

Please help on how I can link a NX open application in a custom toolbar.
I did not find any help on the GTAC either.

I wish to replicate the creation of buttons and linking of NX open applications using a batch file for single click deployment.

Any help in this regard will be deeply appreciated.

Thanks,
Amitabh

RE: Create a toolbar button and link it to a NXOpen .exe file ?

Hello Amitabh,

For cases like this I typically define the custom button for the .exe in a .men file in the startup directory and then reference the button defined in the .men file in the .tbr file. (To clarify, with this approach the ACTIONS directive is only supplied in the .men file.)

HTH,

Joe
