Violated and Active Responses - Nastran Optimization

Violated and Active Responses - Nastran Optimization

(OP)

Hi everyone,

I have some questions regarding violated and active responses. As attachment to this post there is a excerpt of f06 file of an optimization cycle. There are 4 DRESP2 Responses, all of them have an upper bound of 0.19. If you look to the top, you can read the following:
(N/A - BOUND NOT ACTIVE OR AVAILABLE)
(*** VIOLATED RESPONSES MARKED WITH V ***)
(*** ACTIVE RESPONSES MARKED WITH A ***)

So, if you now look to the bottom, two responses (1 and 4) are marked with "A" so they are active.

---- RETAINED DRESP2 RESPONSES ----

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INTERNAL DRESP2 RESPONSE EQUATION LOWER INPUT OUTPUT UPPER
ID ID LABEL ID BOUND VALUE VALUE BOUND
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 11910001 S1A40C00 33 N/A 1.0663E+00 1.9056E-01 1.9000E-01 A
2 11910021 S1A45C00 33 N/A 1.0374E+00 4.8569E-02 1.9000E-01
3 11920001 S2A40C00 33 N/A 8.2737E-01 9.8415E-02 1.9000E-01
4 11920021 S2A45C00 33 N/A 9.9694E-01 1.8981E-01 1.9000E-01 A

How is this possible if the OUTPUT VALUE of response 1 (1.9056E-01) is bigger than the upper bond (1.9000E-01).
What does actually mean active response? A response that is within the lower and upper bound?

Thank you for your support!
