PLASTIC SCALE MODELS (LIKE GUNDAM)

PLASTIC SCALE MODELS (LIKE GUNDAM)

PLASTIC SCALE MODELS (LIKE GUNDAM)

(OP)
Hi everyone! I've been wondering if anyone is into this kind of hobby as well. I only knew very few from engineering profession that put interest in this hobby.
For me, Ive been collecting GUNDAM models since 2008. It started out with my girlfriend (now my wife) giving me one GUNDAM model on my birthday. I love the kit
and I enjoyed building it. I started buying kits for myself until addiction sets in (lol). Today I have hundreds of these model kits and most of it are still on their boxes
and never been built due to lack of time doing "real world" stuffs. Addiction lie low since 2013 before getting married. I am still buying some kits until now but limits myself
already on what I really like and not hauling each new releases.

I am joining model kit contests every now and then when I am able to finish an entry (GMKC and GBWC). GMKC stands for Gundam Model Kit Contest while GBWC stands for Gunpla Builders World Cup. Those contests helds worldwide competition wherein each country has their representatives.
I my country, the eliminations normally happens every May and October of each year. I've never got the top spot but able to grab consolation prizes.
And I'll never stop there. Hope to finish my entry so I can join this October.

Please feel free to share if anyone has the same interest as me or on any plastic model kits.

RE: PLASTIC SCALE MODELS (LIKE GUNDAM)

I started building Mech robot kits back in the early 80's when Tamiya models were just beginning to hit the market in bulk (the old Tamiya catalogs were awesome!). I know I have a handful of kits, still in the box, packed away after several moves, but may never get back to them... life takes over pretty quickly. I modded for realism... dirt/oil, chipping paint, bullet holes, etc. Once in a while I might add in an LED or two (and this was back in the day when red LEDs were about the only thing you could get at a reasonable price), but generally it was grain of wheat bulbs.
