Wind only frame with Composite floor
Wind only frame with Composite floor
(OP)
Hi All,
If I consider proper joint rotational stiffness at the column-beam joint, obviously ignoring the concrete section, is it structurally viable to design a wind only 3 story frame with composite floor?
Thanks.

RE: Wind only frame with Composite floor
I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.
RE: Wind only frame with Composite floor
Yes, i meant moment frames. But wind only moment frames with flexible connection to allow pin-joint assumption at beam ends for gravity load and provide resistance for wind loads.
Do you see any problem using this ductile connection with composite beams? I have used this simplification on steel frame building before, but i have never use it with composite beams.
Thanks

I will check the design guide.
