Design of Cold Formed Members

I would like to ask for your idea and experience whether it is safe to design cold formed members using AISC code. How does the results differ from those designed using AISI-LRFD codes.

RE: Design of Cold Formed Members

While the two specifications have many simularities, there are some specialized areas in AISI, particularly involving connections that are not replicated in AISC.  In addition, depending on the shape and thickness of your desired cross-section, the AISI effective width rules may reduce your strengths well below the equivalent AISC results.
My suggestion:  Get a copy of CFSLT and do the proper analysis.  You can download this free from http://www.rsgsoftware.com/
