thread561-328366: Excel spreadsheet driving sketches in NX8

I've played around with the spreadsheet function per the referenced post and it works well. I tested to see if I could re-arrange the expressions in the spreadsheet (like side by side columns for X and Y dimensions) but it only seems to pick up the 1st column expressions in the spreadsheet. Is there anyway to beat the spreadsheet into knowing which cells I want to point to or do they all have to be linear in column A?

RE: Spreadsheet in NX

Yes, that's the way the Spreadsheet works in NX, but there's nothing saying that you can't create a second Worksheet, arrange the data however you wish and simply link the new cells to the appropriate cells in the linear list on the first Worksheet. Note that when you leave the spreadsheet and return to the NX session, if Worksheet two was active when you hit OK when it asked you is you wanted to save the Spreadsheet data, the next time you open the Spreadsheet it will show Worksheet two. In fact, once you've established your links from the second back to the first Worksheet, you can continue to work in the future as if that first Worksheet never existed.

Thanks for the reply. I figured there must be some way to beat the software into working the way I wanted it to.

Congrats on your upcoming retirement. Hope you'll still be checking the boards occasionally for my sake. Hope you'll never log on again and just enjoy not working any more for yours...

Mind providing a run down of what all the other commands do in "Add-ins" menu? Or point me to where that is in the help files? I can't search help due to java issues.
