Quick Question

Quick Question

Quick Question

(OP)
We have got a stainless steel valve 16" class 600 and its a cold service natural gas where the tempratures reach -60 we want to replace the gasket but the available gasket is PTFE with stainless steel inner race and a coated carbon steel outter race so os there any worry aboit the carbon steel otter race

RE: Quick Question

You will have problems with PTFE and the carbon steel as you said it has. A good carbon steel for you would be the 9% nickel alloy, very used for very low temperature. Try to check it. Take a look for gasket for low temperature that maybe your client has good specification. I used PTFE very well but no more than -29oC, bellow this it is a new world of gasket.
