NX9 curve tangency

NX9 curve tangency

NX9 curve tangency

(OP)
Hi,
A quick question. Why does a spline looses it's tangency every time I re-edit it, in the case if it's defined by poles?
Poles give me a better control over the spline, but I really have to adjust their location a lot, and finding all the tangent edges every time is starting to get frustrating.

RE: NX9 curve tangency

If you are creating an associative studio spline (it will show up as a feature in the part navigator), it should not lose its tangent constraints unless the object it is tangent to has been deleted. I use a lot of associative studio splines (defined by poles) and have very few problems with them.

I forgot to mention that the ones I am having problems with are created within sketches.

RE: NX9 curve tangency

Are you saying that a spline inside the Sketch is losing it's 'Tangent' constraints? Keep in mind that inside the Sketcher you may need to assign explicit 'Tangent' constraints is they were not automatically assigned during the creation of the Sketch curves.

See the attached example of a sketch with a spline that is tangent to three different line objects.
