Alarm Gong testing

(OP)
Dry pipe system (Pre-action Valve activated by smoke detector). During alarm gong testing pressure switch is activated due to the flow of water, does the pressure switch will give signal to the solenoid valve to open the check valve? We are facing issues with our clients because in order to test the water alarm gong and pressure switch, we are deactivating the solenoid so that it will not open the clapper during the alarm gong test but they did not allow.

RE: Alarm Gong testing

If the valve is installed correctly a water line below the valve is opened to test the flow switch. It should not trip the valve. Look at the cut sheet on the valve and or call the mfg of the valve to know for sure.
