Hi,

What is the A-number of wire GTAM AWS SFA ER 70 S 3, according to ASME IX? I've tried to have a look at QW 442 table but I didn't understand...thanks

RE: A-number of wire GTAW AWS SFA ER 70S-3

SFA 5.18 - ER70S-3 = A-1 Mild Steel, F#6

Thanks david, but in the chemical composition of the product that I buy, it's indicated only 5 of these 6 chemical elements of the table QW-442. Is still a-number 1?

RE: A-number of wire GTAW AWS SFA ER 70S-3

Yes. ER70S-3 is a mild steel rod/wire. SFA 5.18 is "Specification for carbon steel electrodes and rods for gas shielded arc welding". There should be more "chemical elements" than 5 on the actual MTR.
