disappearing detail views in drawings

disappearing detail views in drawings

disappearing detail views in drawings

(OP)
My detail views disappear (sometimes) when I save and close, then re-open the drawing, although the annotations and dimensions are still there.  If I select edit sketch (on the detail circle), then rebuild, the detail view comes back up.  Any adivice would be much appreciated.

RE: disappearing detail views in drawings

The way I handle it, is to just do a ctrl-q (forced rebuild) & usually everything goes back to normal.

Thanks for the tip, I have been fighting this for weeks.

RE: disappearing detail views in drawings

You could try and go to the view menu and switch the hidden detail on and then switch it off on whatever view has disappeared. That usually works for me. Otherwise switching the Tangent Edges on and off might work as well.

RE: disappearing detail views in drawings

I get the same thing in all of my drawings. I have reported this to Solidworks repeatedly but their stock responce is that they can't reproduce it.
I'm a mold designer and most of my drawings are 20-50 sheets. I have to go sheet by sheet CTRL-Qing each one.
This problem has plagued me since SWX 97 or 98. I don't think it's going away anytime soon.
