Having trouble selecting large surfaces/faces/edges in NX

Having trouble selecting large surfaces/faces/edges in NX

(OP)
Hi, I am asking this on behalf of a colleague, and was wondering if anyone could help. My colleague is drawing up some very large parts (we are talking squares/cubes in the region of 40000mm), but when using these components in assemblies, he is having real trouble selecting the faces of these large components (for example, when applying constraints, selecting edges for measuring etc). Is there something graphics/tolerance wise he needs to adjust?

We are using NX 8.5. Many thanks in advance.

RE: Having trouble selecting large surfaces/faces/edges in NX

There is a customer default which you can try.
Gateway - Visualization - View/ Screen - Maximum size for an objects bounding box,

I think that the default is 265 000 mm ( metric. ) It does have the effect that if things are bigger / outside they become difficult to select.

We have this value set to 1200 000 because we frequently import terrain data.

Regards,
Tomas
