large assembly within the drawing

large assembly within the drawing

(OP)
hey guys,

I have the problem that within a large assembly drawing in the views ,components will be hghlightet automatically, if i go trought it with the mouse. I tried to reset the preferences, that objects will be not highlighted, but within the quick pick they will highlighted. If a componente will be highlighted, it will be highlighted within all views on the sheet and this takes very long time. Some components has to be selected within the qucik pick because of getting some attributes values from the components.
I tried to set some views as reference but this is dangerous, because there will be no clock that this views will be not updated.

Is there a way to set that components will be highlighted only within the view they will selected?
Or is there a nx variable that controls that the highliting will be done by the grafik board, so that this will be take no so much time?

Thanks

RE: large assembly within the drawing

Is your concern that the components in all the views are highlighting when you are doing dimensioning ?
You may want to verify that your graphics board is one that is recommended by Siemens.

Hey,
no the components will not be highlighted if a dimension will be set.
For example a note will be created and for the note some attribut information will be taken from the component. For this it is necessary to go threw the quick pick menu to get the necessary component. And when I am wihtin the quick pick and go threw the components the relevant component will be hoghlightet in each view. There are many views on the drawing, so it takes many time until the component or assembly will be deselected (not highlighted) or the next component will be hightlighted.

Is there a way to set that also within the quick pick menu the components will be not highlighted, or is there a way to set that the components will be highlighted only within the way they will be selected?

Thanks
